Journey Highlights

Experience Crossing the Storms River Suspension Bridge

Located in the Tsitsikamma region of the Eastern Cape, the Storms River Mouth suspension bridge stretches over the red-brown waters above the Storms River.

Visit an Ostrich Farm

Discover the world's largest bird by taking an ostrich tour in South Africa. Visitors and locals can meet and interact with beautiful giants on Berluda Farm, just 5km outside the Karoo town of Oudtshoorn.

Cango Caves

The world-famous Cango Caves are situated in Oudtshoorn, which is surrounded by the breathtaking Swartberg and Outeniqua ranges.

Wine Tasting Opportunity Along the World’s Longest Wine Route

Wine lovers' first port of call, the Cape Winelands provides a lengthy wine route that stretches from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha), via Oudtshoorn and the Garden Route.

Greeted at the airport, a representative will hand over your travel documentation and show you to the vehicle collection at Europcar at the airport. You will then depart for the Garden Route. The Garden Route derives its name from the ecologically diverse vegetation of the area found between the Indian Ocean and the Tsitsikamma Mountains. Tsitsikamma is the ancient San name meaning place of abundant water, an enchanting and fabled part of the country. Enjoy lunch in Tsitsikamma (own account) before taking a short walk to experience the wonderful views on the suspension bridge of the Storms River Mouth. The final stop for the day is in Keurboomstrand, near Plettenberg Bay. Enjoy time at leisure or take advantage of the resort’s private access to an 8km stretch of pristine beachfront. Enjoy the ocean’s ambience and dine at the resort’s restaurant (own account).

  • Overnight at Hotel
  • Breakfast

After a hearty breakfast depart Keurboomstrand for Oudtshoorn in the Klein Karoo via Knysna. This morning’s excursion gives you the opportunity to photograph the landscape from the lookout points at the Knysna Lagoon and the Knysna Heads. Travel inland to the ostrich capital of the world, Oudtshoorn, driving over the Outeniqua Pass. Constructed by prisoners of war from 1943 to 1951, the Outeniqua Pass now bridges the coastal Garden Route and the semi-arid Klein Karoo. Arrive in time for lunch (own account) at an ostrich farm on the outskirts of Oudtshoorn. A tour of the farm introduces guests to the ostrich industry (own account). In the Cango Valley we discover the spectacular subterranean world of the Cango Caves. This 20 million year old world wonder features an impressive display of gold and vermillion dripstone stalagmites and stalactites. Arrive at the hotel and enjoy time at leisure. Delight in the charming country setting and enjoy dinner (own account).
