Journey Highlights

Serengeti

The great Serengeti wildebeest migration is the movement of large numbers of wildebeest, accompanied by zebras and smaller numbers of Grant's gazelle, Thomson's gazelle, eland, and impala.

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park is famed for a fantastic birding experience as well as its abundance of wildlife. Baobab trees are also plentiful in the landscape, adding to its scenic appeal.

Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater is the only intact caldera in the world. The area is home to the 'Big 5' and is populated with other wildlife including around 6000 wildebeest.

Balloon Safari in the Serengeti

The Serengeti is one of the most spectacular national parks in the world, enjoy the views from above in a hot air balloon safari.

Itinerary

On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met and assisted by a Sense of Africa representative. You will then be transferred to your hotel in Arusha arriving in time for check-in. Rest of the day at leisure.

Early breakfast at the hotel is followed by check out.

Meet your safari driver guide who will take you through a short safari briefing then commence your drive to Tarangire National Park which hosts among other species buffalo, elephants, lions, warthogs, elands, the fringe-eared oryx, lesser and greater kudu, gerenuk, and large numbers of impala.

A full day will be spent in Tarangire National with extended game drives. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park.

After breakfast, your guide will collect packed lunches for you before commencing the drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation area. Upon arrival descend down the crater floor for a game drive.

Ngorongoro Crate is quite possibly the most famous of all Africa’s conservation areas, this is one of the places where you stand a good chance of seeing the Big 5. The enduring charm of Ngorongoro stems from its overwhelming physical beauty and abundance of wildlife permanently resident here. Later you will return to the camp.

After breakfast, check out, collect your packed lunches and drive to Serengeti National Park, with game viewing en-route to your camp.

Enjoy an afternoon game drive in the park. The enormous Serengeti park supports every variety of animal imaginable – from large predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs to the smaller herbivores they prey on.

Optional early morning balloon ride with champagne-style breakfast. At the rate of US$535 per person.

Full day spent in the Serengeti with private morning and late afternoon game drive.

After breakfast and check out, transfer to the nearest airstrip for your scheduled flight back to Arusha.

You will be met on arrival by a representative who will transfer you to the Arusha Coffee Lodge for lunch. After lunch, you will be transferred to the Kilimanjaro Airport for your departure flight back home. A Sense of Africa representative will assist you at check-in and reconfirm your onward flight.

Depending on the season, you will switch accommodation between the Serengeti Central area (Ole Serai Moru) and the Northern Serengeti area (Ole Serai Kogatende).

January-May and November-December: Central Serengeti area.

July-October: Northern Serengeti area.

Children under 6 years are not allowed at Lemala Camps unless booked on an exclusive basis.

Flying doctors coverage: Covers clients within East Africa for a period of 30 days. In the eventuality of a medical emergency, they will be airlifted to Nairobi where they will be taken to a good hospital. Hospital bills are borne by the patient.

Accommodation of a similar standard may be offered depending on availability at the time of booking.

Sense of Africa reserves the right to change the programming in accordance with prevailing weather conditions.

Baggage Allowance

This is limited to 15kgs per person for domestic flights, including hand luggage.

Soft-sided bags are recommended for a safari in East Africa due to limited space on safari vehicles.

Baggage and personal effects are at the owner’s risk throughout the tour and baggage’s insurance are highly recommended.

Price subject to the rate of exchange fluctuation based on the day of full payment.
